Walk/Ride/Bike Assignment

Last Friday I wandered around Philly a bit with a couple friends. We went to Fairmount  and walked around this train tunnel, a really dark, creepy, cool place. We also ran into some people walking a couple of just gorgeous dogs (brindle pitbulls! I love those). From there we walked around the outside of the PMA, above the river/giant ice flow. Then I had to get some supplies for my 3D class this week, so later that day we drove down to Lowe's in South Philly to pick up some stuff.

But that's not all.

Our new suite mate isn't too familiar with the city yet, so the next day we took her to South Street to go thrifting and such. It's always refreshing to look at a familiar place through the eyes of someone new. It is not, however, refreshing to walk around in sub-freezing weather. That was less than ideal. So we basically ran from place to place, picked up a couple cool (aka cheap) things, and grabbed lunch at Johnny Rockets. Note: their veggie burger is surprisingly good. Really good vegetarian patties are less common than you'd think, for whatever reason, and although these guys made one rookie mistake—that of smothering the burger in mustard, I assume to make up for the animal flesh-flavor that us poor vegetarians are missing—it was an easy fix (Napkin, please...).
